Rochester Signs Forward Jarret Lukin to PTO

(Rochester, NY)... Amerks General Manager Jody Gage announced today that the team has signed forward Jarret Lukin to a professional tryout (PTO) and will be eligible to play in tonight's game against the Binghamton Senators.
The 25-year-old native of Fort McMurray, Alberta is set to make his AHL debut with the Amerks after leading the Dayton Bombers of the ECHL with 20 goals this season. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound forward has 43 points overall (20+23) along with 24 penalty minutes.
Before joining the Bombers for the 2008-09 season, he played back-to-back seasons (2006-008) with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL, where he recorded 48 points (16+32) in 98 games played. He played two seasons with the University of Calgary from 2005-06 after he played five seasons (2000-05) of junior hockey for the Kamloops Blazers and Medicine Hat Tigers in the Western Hockey League. He posted his best season during the 2002-03 campaign when he boasted 74 points, having 32 goals and 42 assists in 65 games played.
The Amerks remain on the road on Saturday, February 28th as they head to Broome County Veteran's Memorial Arena for the first of two back-to-back tilts with the Binghamton Senators. The 7:05 p.m. contest will be the fifth of eight meetings between the intra-state rivals and can be heard live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and AHL Live. Rookie defenseman Jason Garrison lifted the Amerks to a 3-2 overtime win in their last meeting with the B-Sens on February 7th. The win was Rochester's first against Binghamton this season. The Amerks are 20-26-4 lifetime against the Senators.
