The Steel carried the play in the opening period by out-shooting the Ice 12-7, but Bennett held Chicago?s offense at bay. Richardson received the pass from behind the net and one-timed it past Chicago goalie, Nick Pisellini.
Five minutes into the second period, Indiana added to their lead when Max Cook' s shot found the back of the net.
Before heading into the second intermission, Ben Albertson blocked a Chicago point shot, skated down the left wing and snapped a wrist shot over Pisellini?s shoulder making the score 3-0.
Early in the third, Indiana's lead grew to four on Sebastian Geoffrion's first goal of the night. Cichy and Geoffrion scored two minutes apart in the middle stages of the third to end the scoring at 6-0.
