Traverse City Beach Bums News Release

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich.- In the first trade of the Traverse City Beach Bums' offseason, the organization dealt outfielder Brad Roblin to the Worcester (Mass.) Tornadoes of the CanAm League for a player to-be-named later.

Roblin hit .232 last season with 30 runs-batted in, 15 doubles, a triple and three home runs. The Wayland, Mass. native stole eight bases in 2008, ranking third on the team, and scored 21 runs.

The right-hander originally signed with the Beach Bums a month into the 2007 season and went on to lead the team with a .427 on-base percentage and did not record an error in the outfield.

A four-year starter at the University of Michigan, Roblin will leave another tough-to-fill void from the 2008 Beach Bums roster.

The 2009 Beach Bums begin the organization's fourth season on May 22 at Kalamazoo. The squad's home opener is Tuesday, May 26 at 7:05 p.m. against the Southern Illinois Miners.
