Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
Williamsport Crosscutters have announced their 3rd Annual Hot Stove Dinner & Auction with the Phillies will be held on Wednesday, January 14, at the Genetti Hotel in Williamsport. A portion of the proceeds from this year's event will benefit the Lycoming County United Way.
"The United Way helps those who need it most throughout Lycoming County," said Cutters Vice-President General Manager Doug Estes. "Their current campaign has fallen short of its goal and this event gave us the opportunity to step up and help our friends and neighbors. We hope our fans can lend a helping hand by attending the event and also participating in the auctions."
The highlight of this year's event will be the chance for fans to view the Phillies 2008 World Series Trophy. Everyone attending the event will receive a framed photo of themselves posing with the trophy at no extra charge.
Cutters Vice-President of Marketing, Gabe Sinicropi stated, "The World Series trophy has taken on rock-star status in the last few years and will probably be the most popular attraction of the event. We are proud that, with the help of the Phillies, we can bring it to Williamsport and have fans receive their very own photo with this historic piece of hardware."
Guests for the event are expected to be announce din the near future. Previous guests have included Hall-of-Fame Broadcaster Harry Kalas, former Phillie great Dick Allen and current players such as Ryan Madsen, Chris Coste and Kyle Kendrick.
"It's been a sell-out event in each of the last two years and being affiliated with the World Champion Phillies, we expect tickets to be gone fast," stated Sinicropi. "You don't have to be a Phillies fan to appreciate and enjoy this event. If you are a baseball fan of any kind, you've got to be there."
The evening, presented in part by Professional Petroleum, Susquehanna Bank, WRAK and the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, will consist of dinner, an entertainment portion, featuring interviews and question and answer segments with many of the special guests, plus Chinese and live auctions of Phillies & other sports memorabilia by T&S Auction Company. The dinner and entertainment portion of the event will begin at 6:30 PM, preceded by a half-hour of mingling, photos with the World Series trophy, fun and games, plus the start of the Chinese auction. Free autographs will be available for attendees at the close of event.
Tickets are $49 for adults and $39 for children age 12 and under and will be available starting Friday, December 5 at 9am. Fans are encouraged to buy their tickets online at www.crosscutters.com.
