Close To 200 Students From James Bay To Attend Alouettes Practice Tomorrow

Montreal, Nov. 20, 2008 - The Montreal Alouettes will continue their relationship with the youth from James Bay as close to 200 young students from the Mistissini region will attend practice on Friday, Nov. 21, starting at 11 a.m.
With the objective of inspiring the youth of Mistissini to achieve better things in life, the relationship between the football club and its players, staff and coaches, and the children of the region has only grown stronger over the years.
This visit is the latest in a series of activities.
Several players, coaches and cheerleaders have twice made the trip to Mistissini in the last three years to work with the kids from the James Bay region, located roughly 1,000 km north of Montreal. Young Crees are particularly susceptible to many social issues.
The Alouettes are heavily involved in many such programs all over Quebec through their CN Adopt an Alouette program and consistent outreach towards the youth of this province.
The team will welcome these kids, from nine reserves in the James Bay are, just two days before one of the most important games in the history of the franchise. Some of the kids have travelled more than 2,500 km for this great experience.
The kids will conclude their trip this weekend by watching the Grey Cup in person this Sunday at Olympic Stadium, where over 60,000 fans are expected.
