Des Moines Fights Hard But Comes Up Short

Your Des Moines Buccaneers traveled to Sioux Falls on Saturday, November 15th to face off against the Sioux Falls Stampede. Although the team fought hard, they came up short of the win with the final score being 5-3.

Sioux Falls scored the first goal of the night early in the period. The game went scoreless until a powerplay goal was put between the pipes by Rocco Carzo at the 14:17 mark. Ryan Walters and Nick Pryor assisted him. The period would end tied, 1-1.

In the second period, Sioux Falls would score the first goal of the period on a powerplay. The Buccaneers did not settle for that, they to scored another powerplay goal at 12:24 in the period. Ryan Walters, with an assist from Nick Pryor, would get credit for the goal. Sioux Falls would score two more goals, ending the period with a score of 4-2.

Late in the third period, the Buccaneers scored the first goal. Josh Myers was able to score at 17:37 in the period, with assists from Brett Bruneteau and H.T. Lenz. Sioux Falls would score the final goal of the night on an empty net as the Bucs had pulled their goalie to help in the offensive effort.

Des Moines would be outshot by Sioux Falls, 30 to 34. The Buccaneers would end the night 2 for 7 on powerplays, wrapping up the weekend with 7 powerplay goals.

The Buccaneers will face off against Indiana next Saturday, in Indiana. They will return home November 27th for Thanksgiving night action against the Omaha Lancers. It's Miller Lite Buc Beer Night presented by LAZER 103.3. Miller Lite draws will be $1 all night long.
