Cichy Selected for Team USA

October 23, 2008 - United States Hockey League (USHL) Tri-City Storm

KEARNEY - Nebraska's Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League is proud to announce that forward Mike Cichy has been selected to participate in the 2008 World Junior A Challenge that will take place in Camrose, Alberta, Canada November 2-9. The USHL will be represented well, as all 22 players selected to participate are currently playing in the USHL.

"This appears to be an event that is going to continue to get bigger and better and we're glad that we're able to provide USA Hockey with enough quality talent to go into the event and compete for a gold medal," said USHL Executive Vice President Gino Gasparini.  "It's always special for a player to get to represent their country and we're excited for all these young men who will get to play in the event."

In addition to Team USA, other participants will be Belarus, Germany, Russia and two teams from Canada, one from the eastern part of the country and one from the western part of the country.  Team USA's game against Germany on November 4 will be their first of the event.  All games in the event will be played at Camrose's Edgeworth Center.
