DES MOINES,  IA - The Des Moines Buccaneers  travel  to Council Bluffs  tonight  to  face  the 0‐2 Omaha Lancers  in  exciting USHL action. The puck drops at 7:00 p.m. from the Mid‐American Center in Council Bluffs. The Buccaneers  then return to Buccaneer Arena Saturday night to host the 1‐0 Sioux Falls Stampede with a 7:05 p.m. start. Tickets  are still available but they expect a large crowd again this weekend; tickets rare $11 for adult arena level & $8 for  youth. All ice level seats are $13.     Before the game, there will be a tailgate party  in the south  lot of Buccaneer Arena beginning at 5 p.m. Free BBQ  samples will be provided for all fans with a game‐ticket. It's also KCCI "Kids Free" Night, children 12 & under get in  the game free with a paid adult.    Last weekend the Buccaneers won their home opener against Tri‐City Storm, 8 to 2. Fans were treated to Krispy  Kreme Doughnuts as a  result of  the "Score 6 and Win" promotion.  It was an exciting game with  the Buccaneers  scoring  seven  unanswered  goals  during  the  2nd  &  3rd   periods.  Josh  Balch was  named Honorable Mention USHL  Player of the Week as a result of his one‐goal and three assist performance. Chris Knowlton added two goals and  assist in the 8‐2 win. Game attendance was 3,011.      Other Buc Notes: 

Former Buccaneer Forward Kyle Okposo begins his first full season with the NHL New York Islanders this year as he  joins center Mike Comrie and winger Jon Sim on the team's first line. Okposo, the Islanders' 2007 first‐round pick  (7th overall), should spend all of  the 2008‐09 season with New York and  likely as a  top‐six  forward. "He's sharp,  he's eager, he's a great student, both at school and in the game of hockey," said Bryan Trottier, Islanders executive  and advisor. Okposo  is being compared  to  Jarome  Iginla as a power  forward with a knack  for scoring. Many  feel  Okposo will be a Rookie of the Year contender. Okposo, who began last season with the University of Minnesota,  played 35 games with Bridgeport (AHL) before New York gave him a taste of the NHL. Okposo had five points (two  goals)  in nine games  last season. "It feels pretty good to know I got that under my wing a  little bit, but  it doesn't  change my mentality at all," Okposo said. "I want  to be a player  in  the NHL,  I don't want  to  just make  it.  I don't  want  to  say,  'OK,  I've made  it,  so  now  I  can  rest.'  I want  to  be  That  Guy  out  there."  Okposo won  a  National  Championship with the Buccaneers in 2006.
