SAINT JOHN, NB --- The Saint John Sea Dogs open their 2008-2009 home schedule this weekend, with two games set to be played at Harbour Station and the First Annual Fan Fest kicking things off tomorrow afternoon at 4:00pm.

"We're incredibly excited to get Season Four underway," said Sea Dogs President Wayne Long. "Both our game night experience and on-ice product are going to be nothing short of spectacular this year, and we're hoping to have a full house tomorrow night when we Rock the Station at our Home Opener."

The First Annual Sea Dogs Fan Fest runs from 4:00-6:00pm on Saturday afternoon and will be staged outside of Harbour Station's West Entrance. Live music, face painting, beer gardens, and a charity BBQ presented by the Children's Wish Foundation will be featured at the event, which will be hosted by team mascot Splash.

Prior to Saturday's Home Opener, country music star Chris Cummings will perform the Canadian National Anthem. Fans will also be treated to a special surprise from the Saint John Police Force, with the debut of the Sea Dogs' brand new entrance and introductory video set to take place as well. As a means of adding to the festive atmosphere, every fan in attendance will be given a free Sea Dogs Rally Towel courtesy of Irving Oil and Alpine.

"Fans will definitely enjoy the show we've got planned for Saturday night," said Game Day Coordinator Mark Gamble. "The Sea Dogs Home Opener is always an extra-special experience, and we think that this year will be our best yet."

Opening Weekend continues on Sunday afternoon when the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, the team expected to battle Saint John for Atlantic Division supremacy this year, set to face the Sea Dogs in a 4:00pm contest. All attendees at this highly-anticipated match will receive a complimentary team magnet schedule.

Tickets to both weekend games are available online and at the Harbour Station Box Office (657-1234).
