
Mooseheads name Graham Bona team captain

Twenty-year-old defenseman Graham Bona of Halifax, NS has been named the Halifax Mooseheads' Captain for the 2008-2009 Quebec Major Junior League season.
Mooseheads' head coach Cam Russell made the announcement at a press conference today.
The 6'02, 225 lb defenseman, entering his fifth season of QMJHL action, was originally drafted in the third round (#43) of the 2004 QMJHL Entry Draft by the Rimouski Oceanic. He was acquired by the Mooseheads Jan. 07, 2007 in a trade with the Oceanic.
Over the remainder of the 2006-07 season and during last season, Bona played in 89 games for Halifax, recording 2 goals and 14 assists, with 85 penalty minutes while maintaining a plus 10 rating.
In 232 QMJHL games over four seasons, Bona has totaled 39 points, 8 goals, 31 assists, with 225 penalty minutes. He was a member of the 2004-05 President Cup winning Rimouski team and played in the 2005 Memorial Cup tournament.
"Graham Bona has been a leader both on and off the ice since joining the Mooseheads," Russell said. "We feel, with his experience, he will be a steadying influence on the large number of first year players we have this season."
