Komets, Hodgman make their mark at the Hockey Hall of Fame

Fort Wayne, IN - IHL Turner Cup Champion Justin Hodgman recently visited the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto and delivered his championship game worn Komets jersey and the game winning puck where it will be on display with all other artifacts and memorabilia from the world of professional hockey.

The Komets won the IHL Turner Cup Championship in dramatic fashion on Monday, May 12, 2008 when Hodgman netted the game winning goal at the 23 second mark of the third sudden-death overtime of the seventh game for a 4-3 victory. Komet veterans Guy Dupuis and Colin Chaulk assisted on the goal.

The game was one of the longest games in pro hockey history lasting 100 minutes, 23 seconds. It was the third longest game in 56 years of Komet hockey in Fort Wayne.

Hodgman was playing with the Komets under amateur status after completing the 2007-08 season with Erie in the Ontario Hockey League. The rookie center appeared in 11 games at the end of 2007-08 with the Komets and went on to skate in all 13 playoff games leading the Komets with seven goals and 14 points.
