Southern Maryland Blue Crabs News Release

The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs Professional Baseball Club, in partnership with Kool Productions, has unveiled Craig Morgan as the "mystery star" for the September 20 Southern Maryland Country Music Festival at Regency Furniture Stadium. Morgan will join the previously-announced line-up including award-winning country music performer Gary Allan, Shooter Jennings, SwampDaWamp and local artist John Luskey.

Tickets for the all-day music festival are on sale now at www.somdbluecrabs.com, at the Regency Furniture Stadium box office or by calling 301-638-9788. Ticket prices are $25 for students (already SOLD OUT), $42.50 for field general admission and $55 for seating bowl general admission. A portion of the proceeds from the concert will benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, an organization which has helped in the fight against breast cancer since 1982.

Morgan, a veteran of the United States Army, is an award-winning country music star with multiple top ten hits. His 2005 single "That's What I Love About Sunday", spent four weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts and was named as the top country single of 2005 by Billboard. It came from his highest-selling album to date, My Kind of Livin, which also produced the #2 hit "Redneck Yacht Club."

Morgan followed that with his third album, Little Bit of Life, which included popular singles "Little Bit of Life," "Tough," and "International Harvester." Morgan is expected to release his fourth album later this year. His latest single, "Love Remembers," was released in April.

The gates to the festival will open at 2 p.m., with a performance by the John Luskey Band beginning at 2:15 p.m. The festival will conclude with a pair of performances by artists who have combined to record four #1 hits, and 15 top ten's. Morgan will perform at 6:30 p.m., followed by Allan from 8:30-10 p.m.

Allan has produced 21 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including three that ranked number one: "Man to Man" and "Tough Little Boys" in 2003, and "Nothing On but the Radio" in 2004. Seven others have reached the top ten. Allan's most recent album, titled Living Hard, was released last October. Serving as its lead-off single was the song "Watching Airplanes", which spent more than 30 weeks on the country charts, where it reached a peak of #2. The second single from the album "Learning How To Bend," quickly became another hit song.

The Southern Maryland Country Music Festival will be the second of three major concerts at Regency Furniture Stadium this year. Rock legends REO Speedwagon attracted over 4,000 fans on August 11, and the End-of-Summer 70's Funk Fest, featuring Kool & The Gang will take place on September 21. Tickets are ON SALE NOW for both upcoming concerts, as well as the ten remaining Blue Crabs home games in 2008, and can be purchased at www.SOMDbluecrabs.com, at the Regency Furniture Stadium box office or by calling 301-638-9788
