Winnipeg Blue Bombers News Release
WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Football Club will be launching a new âBomber Store' this week, a spectacular 4,400 square foot location on the main floor of the St.Vital Mall, to complement the organization's flagship location at Canad Inns Stadium.
Grand opening for the second location will be on Thursday, August 21.
"We are thrilled to be opening another âBomber Store', expanding our reach to the faithful fans that support our football club," said Lyle Bauer, president and CEO of the Blue Bombers. "This new location will be able to expand our reach to our fans, carry more merchandise and handle the volume that is necessary because of the high demand of our products."
The new âBomber Store' is located adjacent to the food court at St. Vital Mall and, like its stadium location, will continue to have 100 per cent of proceeds directly support the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. At the new outlet, fans will also have the opportunity to purchase tickets to Blue Bomber games.
Many events surround grand opening week. A free Blue Bombers gift will be given to the first 750 customers (while supplies last) beginning Thursday. Fans who spend a minimum of $75 will receive a complimentary Blue Bombers mug. And over the weekend, mascots Buzz and Boomer will join members of the Blue Lightning Dance Team between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The new âBomber Store' will have its main launch festivities on August 26 at 3:30 p.m. with a special jersey event. Many players, including Milt Stegall, Kevin Glenn, Arjei Franklin, Tom Canada, Dan Goodspeed and Derick Armstrong will be on hand to ring in the new stores and sign autographs.
MEDIA NOTE: Media are invited for a "sneak peak" of the new âBomber Store' at St. Vital Mall (next to the food court on the main level) on Wednesday, Aug. 20 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Blue Bombers retail manager Jeffrey Bannon will be on-site for interviews. TV crews wanting to capture b-roll and still cameras wanting shots are all welcome on Wednesday.
