Penguins 2008-09 Promotions Schedule

WILKES-BARRE, PA - Bobbleheads, jersey cards, team calendars and all-star posters will be among the premium items available during the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins 10th season, it was announced on Monday. There will be 20 giveaway nights in all, up from 16 during the 2007-08 season.
In addition, several holiday and group theme nights will be on the schedule, which gets underway on Wednesday, October 8 against the Hershey Bears.
"These items are a small way to say thanks to the most faithful fan base in the American Hockey League," said team president Rich Hixon. "We are very excited about our 10th year in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, and are hoping to make this the most memorable season yet."
Adding to the excitement this year is the fact that the fans will also get to decide on which players are featured on several of the items being given away.
Voting for the Penguins 10th Season Team will take place through ballots included in the Scranton Times-Tribune and the Citizen's Voice newspapers. Ballots will be available twice a week through September. Fans will be able to select three forwards, two defenseman, one goaltender and one coach that will comprise the team, and will be featured on special bobbleheads given away throughout the season.
One of the early gifts will be the âMolson Memories' calendar giveaway on October 11. The 13-month calendar will feature some of the biggest players and most memorable events from the Penguins first nine seasons.
Back for a third season will be the hugely popular Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep Game-Worn Jersey Card Giveaways. The four-night promotion will feature cards of five different players each night, with a swatch of that player's game-worn third jersey (to be unveiled soon) stitched right into the card.
The first 1,500 kids ages 14 and under will receive a Penguins Zamboni Lunch Box before the Sunday, December 28 game against the Binghamton Senators, while every person in the arena will be a winner on Friday, April 10 during Fan Appreciation Night. The campaign closes with the Penguins 10th Anniversary DVD, courtesy of Wyoming Valley Healthcare System, on Saturday, April 11.
