(Vancouver) The Canadian Football League announced its Player of the Month winners for July this morning and two BC Lions have come out on top as defensive lineman Cam Wake picked up the Defensive Player of the Month nod and receiver Paris Jackson earned Canadian of the Month honours.

Wake finds himself atop the CFL sack list with total of seven through six games along with 23 defensive tackles. Wake picked up Defensive Player of the Week honours in Week 2 with a three-sack, eight tackle performance versus Saskatchewan.

Jackson has emerged as one of the CFL's elite receivers in his sixth season and currently leads the club with 28 receptions. His receiving yards total (477) is just six yards off the team lead held by Geroy Simon. Jackson picked up the Canadian Player of the Week award in Week 4 after he racked up six catches for 114 yards - including a 56-yarder in the team's 27-18 win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
