Rock Cats' bullpen saves game, 5-4

New Britain, CT -The Rock Cats took the fourth game in a five game set from Portland, in front of an afternoon crowd of 5,862.

With runners on the corners in the top of the ninth, Ben Julianel struck out the last two hitters earning his 20th save on the season to lock in the Rock Cats win 5-4.

The Sea Dogs began the scoring with a lead off shot by Jeff Corsaletti in the top of the fourth. Aaron Bates singled to left and Mark Wagner followed up with a two-run homer, giving Portland the lead 3-0.

In the bottom of the fourth, the Rock Cats were fueled by base hits from Eric Lis, Daniel Valencia and David Winfree. Felix Molina followed with a hard single to center scoring Lis and Valencia. Toby Gardenhire grounded into a double play to end the inning but not before the Rock Cats cut the lead to 3-2.

After Portland failed to score, Lis homered to left, his tenth on the season, scoring Drew Butera and Brian Dinkelman giving the Rock Cats a 5-3 lead. In the top of the sixth, Yohan Pino left the game as Armando Gabino came in giving up a solo shot to Zach Daegas recording the last Sea Dog run of the game.

Yohan Pino (3-3) hurled five innings giving up three runs, two homers and stuck out six marking his third win this season. Gabino added three innings giving up five hits and one run, striking out four.

Portland pitcher Adam Mills (0-2) gets the loss after pitching five innings giving up eight hits, two walks and striking out one. Miguel Asencio allowed two hits while striking out two in three innings.
