Moose Sign Scott Howes

The Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, announced they have signed forward Scott Howes to an American Hockey League contract.

Howes, 20, appeared in 59 games last season in the QMJHL with the Saint John Sea Dogs where he scored 42 goals and 28 assists for 70 points and 60 penalty minutes. He ended up second in scoring with the Sea Dogs. In 14 post-season games with Saint John, the Toronto, ON native scored 15 goals and 11 assists for 26 points to finish fourth overall in QMJHL playoff scoring. He also played in seven games with the Drummondville Voltigeurs, where he scored a goal and five assists for six points. In his three seasons in the QMJHL, Howes played in 113 games with the Voltigeurs and Sea Dogs. In that time, he scored 68 goals and 50 assists for 118 points and 128 penalty minutes.
