Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release
Sioux Falls, S.D. (July 2, 2008) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that head coach Nate Tibbetts will serve as an assistant coach for the Minnesota Timberwolves during the 2008 NBA Summer League presented by EA SPORTS. Games will be played at the Thomas & Mack Center and the COX Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada Las Vegas and will feature 21 NBA teams competing over 10 days, from July 11-20.
Tibbetts led the Skyforce to a record of 28-22 in his first season as a professional head coach in 2007-08. His team defeated the rival Dakota Wizards in the first round of the 2008 D-League Playoffs presented by Delta before losing to the Southwest Division champion Austin Toros in the second round. He spent the previous two seasons as an assistant coach under Dave Joerger and Mo McHone, respectively.
"We're excited to have Nate join our summer league coaching staff," said Timberwolves head coach Randy Wittman. "This will provide him a chance to get to know some of our players, and work with some of the guys who might be with his team in Sioux Falls this season. We're looking forward to working with Nate and seeing him work with our team."
