Wichita broke out to a 9-0 lead and never looked back as they doubled up Pensacola 12-6. Leading 3-0, the Wingnuts scored three in the fifth inning and three more in the sixth to give Leonard Landeros plenty of cushion to work with as he improved to 5-2 on the campaign. Dane DeValk went five innings and surrendered six runs to fall to 3-4. 3B Michael Thompson and RF Dustan Mohr turned in big nights at the plate as Thompson finished 3-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored while Mohr went 2-for-4 with a run scored and four batted in. CF Chris Colton gave Wichita solid production from the number eight position in the batting order going 3-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBI. CF Francisco Leandro was a bright spot for the Pelicans as he went 2-for-4 with a run scored and four RBI.

Grand Prairie 4, El Paso 2

Grand Prairie starter Kieran Mattison improved to 7-1 on the year as he scattered seven hits over six innings and gave up just two runs to beat El Paso 4-2. The AirHogs offense took advantage of a wild pitch and an RBI single from 2B Noel Trevino to grab a 2-0 lead after three innings. El Paso answered right back in the top of the fourth with a two-run homer by 1B Walter Olmstead that tied the game 2-2. Grand Prairie used three hits in the fifth inning to edge in front 3-2 and added an insurance run in the sixth when C JB Tucker singled, took second on a wild pitch, stole third, and scored on a error by Diablos C Mathew Kent. Geivy Garcia worked a scoreless ninth inning for his second save of the season. With the loss Josh Neitz fell to 5-5.

Fort Worth 6, Shreveport 4

After losing an early 3-0 lead, the Fort Worth Cats rallied from a 4-3 deficit to beat Shreveport 6-4. The Cats scored two runs in the top of the ninth when a two-base error on a fly ball to right field put runners at second and third with none out. After an intentional walk leaded the bases Fort Worth used sacrifice flies from LF Ed Montague and SS Nilson Teilon to plate the winning runs. Tim Haines worked 1 1/3 innings in relief of starter Joel Kirsten to pick up his fourth win of the year. Kirsten went 6 2/3 innings and struck out five. After a blown save in is last outing, Cats closer Jon Hunton got back on track by pitching a scoreless ninth inning for his 12th save.

Sioux City 8, Lincoln 2

Sioux City blew open a 2-2 game with five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to top Lincoln 8-2. RF Jason Bryan homered in his debut with the Explorers and SS Nick McCoola had a three hit performance to power the Sioux City offense. 3B Juan Camacho and C Chris Grossman each drove in two runs and Paige Dumont came out of the bullpen to throw 1 2/3 innings and earn his third win of the year. Tim Layden started for Sioux City and while he had some control problems, managed to allow just one earned run. Ryan Trytten fell to 3-4 as went 6 1/3 innings for Lincoln and allowed three earned runs on just four hits.

St. Paul 8, Sioux Falls 2

St. Paul got their second half started off in the right direction as they beat first half winner Sioux Falls, 8-2. Charlie Ruud picked up his ninth win by tossing five scoreless innings and the Saints got a big night offensively from the top of their batting order. CF Josh Womack had three hits in five at-bats, drove in two and scored three times. New 2B Tony Mansolino went 2-for-4 with a double, sacrifice fly and three RBI. The Saints offense produced a run in six of the team's eight at-bats and leading 5-0, scored three in the seventh to put the game away.
