Calgary Stampeders News Release
Calgary Stampeders fullback Rob Cote will help kick off this year's Hike for Hospice Calgary by leading the hike.
When: May 4, 2008
Registration: 9:00 a.m. Hike: 10:00 a.m.
Where: Fish Creek Provincial Park - Glennfield Area
Who: Rob Cote, Stampeder Outriders, Ralph the Dog
The Stampeders are pleased to again lend their support to this event, where individuals and families whose lives have been touched by Hospice Calgary hike together to remember their loved ones.
"This is my first year being involved with Hospice Calgary," said Cote. "I'm looking forward to walking with some very courageous people, whose spirit and determination have allowed them to overcome some incredible obstacles in their lives. The hike is really a celebration of life, and I hope Calgarians will come out to support the event."
Hospice Calgary has two centres of care: the Rosedale Hospice, for cancer patients reaching the end of life, and the Outreach and Education Centre to assist individuals and families who face loss, whether expected or sudden. While the Rosedale Centre is funded by the Calgary Health Region, the hike aims to raise funds for the Outreach and Education Centre and it's programs.
