Northwest Arkansas Naturals News Release
Left-hander Paul Mildren has been transferred by the Kansas City Royals to Triple-A Omaha of the Pacific Coast League. A starter for most of his career, Mildren made five relief appearances with the Naturals to start 2008, and departs with a 1-2 record and a 2.53 ERA. A roster spot was opened in Omaha when the Royals promoted Omaha Royals starter and former first-round draftee Luke Hochevar to the big league level.
To fill Mildren's spot on the Naturals roster, infielder Ed Lucas has been activated. Lucas will be in uniform and in the lineup for tonight's game against Springfield. Lucas, 25, a Deltona, FL native, is a Dartmouth graduate that hit .280 with three homers and 17 RBI for (AA) Wichita last season. He began this season's campaign on the disabled list.
The Naturals roster continues to stand at the Texas League limit of 24 active players.
