Saint John Sea Dogs News Release

SAINT JOHN, NB --- Saint John Sea Dogs Manager of Ticket Sales Shanna Aker announced today that season tickets for the team's 2008-09 campaign will go on sale this coming Monday, April 21 at 10:00am. The original on-sale date for next year's season tickets was May 1, but the prospect of potentially overwhelming demand convinced Ms. Aker to release seats to the general public earlier.

"The on-ice success that the Sea Dogs are currently enjoying has really created an amazing demand for next year's season tickets," said Ms. Aker. "The entire city of Saint John has really rallied behind this team in recent weeks, and we hope that by moving our on-sale date up to April 21 we'll be in a better position to accommodate the countless requests for season tickets that we've already been receiving from hockey fans throughout south western New Brunswick."

Fans looking to purchase 2008-09 Sea Dogs season tickets should visit the Sea Dogs' office, which is located on the second floor of Harbour Station.

The last two Sea Dogs home games have been played in front of capacity crowds of 6,488 at Harbour Station, a figure that includes 250 standing-room-only patrons. Saint John is averaging 5,995 fans-per-game thus far in their first-ever President's Cup run, with the team's 95.2% playoff capacity rate ranking them second in the league. Furthermore, Saint John's final home game of the regular season, which pitted the Sea Dogs against the Moncton Wildcats, was played in front of a franchise-record 5,538 spectators, 300 of which did not have a seat.

Saint John currently owns a playoff record of 8-2 after having defeated the P.E.I. Rocket and Acadie-Bathurst Titan in consecutive post-season series to earn a berth in the league semi-finals where they will face the Jean-Rougeau Trophy winning Rouyn-Noranda Huskies starting on Friday night at Dave Keon Arena.

Games One and Two of the third round playoff tilt will take place in Rouyn-Noranda, with the action shifting to Saint John for the third and fourth matches. Tickets to both Games Three (April 22) and Four (April 23) of the series are on sale now, both online and at the Harbour Station Box Office (657-1234).
