Drillers Begin Home Slate With 6-Game Homestand

The Tulsa Drillers will play their first home game of the 2008 Texas League season on Thursday, April 10 by hosting the Corpus Christi Hooks (Houston Astros) at Drillers Stadium. Game time for the season opener is set for 7:05PM.

The opening homestand for the Drillers will consist of six games, including three games against the Hooks followed by another 3-game set against the San Antonio Missions (San Diego Padres).

The initial homestand will run through Tuesday, April 15 and will feature three day games and three evening games. One of the day games will be a rare Saturday afternoon contest starting at 1:05PM on Saturday, April 12. The game on Sunday, April 13 will begin at 2:05PM, while the homestand finale on Tuesday, April 15 will have an early 10:05AM start.

The first two games are designated Opening Nights I and II with fans able to obtain free general admission tickets for both nights from any sponsor of Drillers Baseball. Sponsors include QuikTrip, Arvest Bank, Arby's, Mazzio's and Spirit Bank. In addition, 2008 Schedule Magnets will be given out during the first two games, and Myron Noodleman will entertain fans at Thursday's opener.

Other highlights of the first homestand include the first appearance ever at Drillers Stadium for Reggy, The Purple Party Dude (pictured). The Saturday afternoon game on April 12 will feature 50 Cent Hot Dogs and the popular Bark In The Park that allows fans to bring their dogs to the game.

The Drillers have been victorious in six of their past ten home openers. Last year's opener was delayed one day when the original opener was snowed out on April 6. It was believed to be the only snow out in Tulsa' professional baseball history.

NOTES: Keli McGregor, President of the Colorado Rockies, will be on hand for Opening Night II on Friday, April 11. In special pregame ceremonies, McGregor will present National League Championship rings to Tulsa manager Stu Cole and the rest of the Drillers staff as well as to several Rockies scouts and minor league personnel. . .The home opener is not the season opener for the Drillers. The season began with a six-game road trop to Corpus Christi and to San Antonio.

Friday, April 11........................vs. Corpus Christi Hooks (7:05PM) OPENING NIGHT II Fans can again get free general admission tickets from any sponsor of Drillers Baseball, including most Subway, Arvest Bank and QuikTrip locations. 2008 SCHEDULE MAGNETS The first 5,000 fans to enter the stadium will receive a Drillers 2008 schedule magnet courtesy of Mazzio's, AIG and 97.5. KMOD. REGGY PERFORMS Reggy, the Purple Party Dude, will be in attendance to entertain fans throughout the game.

Saturday, April 12.....................vs. Corpus Christi Hooks (1:05PM) BARK IN THE PARK DAY & 50¢ HOT DOGS It is a rare Saturday afternoon (1:05PM) game at Drillers Stadium and it's also the annual Bark in the Park promotion with fans encouraged to bring their dogs to the game. In addition, the delicious Drillers Stadium hot dogs will be on sale for only 50 cents each. It is all courtesy of PETCO, The Humane Society of Tulsa, VCA Animal Hospitals and K95.5 FM. There will be a parade for the dogs starting at 12:15PM, and the Humane Society will have special displays and information on the stadium concourse. Free tickets for your dog are available from PETCO, VCA Animal Hospitals and from the Tulsa Humane Society.

Sunday, April 13.....................vs. San Antonio Missions (2:05PM) KIDS FEST / KIDS EAT FREE SUNDAY Every Sunday game at Drillers Stadium this season is a Kids Eat Free Day courtesy of the Borden Dairy, EOOC, Radio Disney and the Tulsa World! Kids, 14 and under, who enter with a paid admission will receive a coupon redeemable for a free hot dog, ice cream and milk. There will also be a face painter, a balloon artist and a character artist - all FREE for kids! YOUTH CLINIC All youth baseball and softball teams and players can obtain free admission for the game and a pre-game clinic and autograph session on the field with the Drillers players. The clinic will begin at 12:15 p.m. and is presented by the Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedic Center.

Monday, April 14.....................vs. San Antonio Missions (7:05PM) LADIES NIGHT Ladies are invited to enjoy a special night at the ballpark with free nail care and back massages being offered compliments of Green Country Cycle City, Community Care College and Mix 96. Ladies will also receive coupons that will allow them to get discounts on selected food and beverage items at the stadium. GROW YOUR OWN BAT TREE GIVEAWAY Fans can start growing their own bats compliments of The M.E.T. Fans, as they exit the stadium, will receive a free sapling from The M.E.T. to take home and plant. Trees will include a variety of hardwood and evergreen trees.

Tuesday, April 15.....................vs. Corpus Christi Hooks (10:05AM) MORNING BASEBALL There is no better way to spend a sunny, spring morning than at the ballpark as the Drillers conclude their opening homestand with a 10:05AM start courtesy of Star 103. Fans can also enjoy free haircuts and shoe shines while at the game. GROW YOUR OWN BAT TREE GIVEAWAY Fans can start growing their own bats compliments of The M.E.T.
