The RoughRiders continued their winning ways and improved their franchise-best start to 5-0 Monday afternoon in Little Rock, Arkansas against the Travelers. Trey Hodges (1-0) made an impressive debut and received plenty of help form his teammates, who let loose on Travelers' pitching scoring two runs in the second, three in the third, two more in the sixth, and another run in the top of the ninth.

With two outs in the top of the second, a throwing error allowed Max Ramirez to reach base and advance to second. Third baseman Emerson Frostad followed with a double to right field that scored Ramirez. The 'Riders extended their lead in the top of the third inning when center fielder Craig Gentry hit a ground-rule double to right field and later scored on a John Mayberry double. First baseman Chris Davis followed Mayberry with a home run to right field that gave the 'Riders a 5-0 lead.

The RoughRiders added to their lead in the sixth inning behind the bats of Ramirez, Davis, and Frostad once again. With one out, Davis doubled and later scored on a triple by Ramirez and Frostad followed with a single to right that scored Ramirez. The RoughRiders added one more run in the top of the ninth when Frostad scored on a Gentry sacrifice fly that increased the score to 8-0.

Davis went 2-for-4 with a homerun and two RBI and Frostad went 3-for-4 and drove in three runs. Combined, Davis, Ramirez, and Frostad combined to go 6-for-12 with five RBI and six runs scored.

Hodges pitched six solid innings striking out five and only allowing four hits in his 'Riders debut. Brandon Puffer, Danny Touchet, and Brennan Garr each pitched a scoreless inning to seal the RoughRiders victory.

The RoughRiders will finish their series against the Travelers tomorrow evening at 7:10 pm at Dickey-Stephens Park before coming home to Frisco for their home opener on Thursday versus the Springfield Cardinals at 7:00 at Dr Pepper Ballpark.
