March 25, 2008 - American Hockey League (AHL) - Norfolk Admirals News Release

The Admirals fell to the Providence Bruins 7-0 on Wednesday night at Scope. Rob Klinkhammer scored on a penalty shot and Brandon Segal scored his third goal in five games, but the Admirals surrendered three unanswered goals in the third period as they fell to the Lowell Devils 4-2 on Saturday night at Scope.

ADMIRALS' LOG
- Center Dana Tyrell (born 4/23/89) became the youngest player in Norfolk Admirals history on Friday versus Lowell at 18 years, 10 months and 28 days. The 2007 second-round draft pick of the Lightning netted assists in both of his first pro games.
- Despite being the youngest player in Norfolk Admirals history, Tyrell was not the youngest player on the ice. Devils' right wing Nick Palmieri (born 7/12/89) also made his pro debut on Friday at Scope at 18 years, 8 months and 9 days old.
- Defenseman Sean Hurley signed an ATO with Norfolk on Friday. That night, he picked up his first pro point with an assist and led the team with a +3 rating.
- Ten of 11 Norfolk forwards had points in Friday's 6-1 win over the Devils with six multi-point performances.
- RW Kyle Wanvig (20-31-51), C Blair Jones (14-23-37), LW Justin Keller (13-21-34), F Adam Henrich (14-17-31), LW Radek Smolenak (13-10-23) and F/D Jay Rosehill (3-3-6) have all recorded the highest point totals of their AHL careers while goaltender Jonathan Boutin (12-15-3) has recorded the most wins in his AHL career.
- The Admirals have killed 45 of their last 51 penalties (88.2%) over their past nine games.
- LW Radek Smolenak's first period power play goal on Friday night broke an 0-20 slump for Norfolk on the power play.
- Norfolk has been out-shot in its past 16 consecutive games by a 604-373 margin (-231).
ADMIRALS PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEE
Norfolk Forward Brandon Segal continued to wield a hot stick. The veteran right wing netted two goals and an assist for Norfolk last week to lead the team in scoring. On Friday versus Lowell, Segal registered his first multipoint effort as an Admiral with a goal and an assist. He followed that up with another goal on Saturday night versus Lowell. The hard-hitting winger now has points in five of his last ten games (4-2-6).
