PEORIA, AZ - The Omaha Royals rallied from a 4-0 deficit, but had to settle for a 6-6 tie with the Portland Beavers on Saturday. The Royals are now 5-2-1 in Cactus League action.

Down 4-0 entering the sixth inning, Brian Buchanan drilled an RBI double to left. Jeff Nettles, son of former Yankee All-Star Graig Nettles, followed with a two-run homer to pull Omaha within a run.

Mike Stodolka's two-run triple with two outs in the top of the eighth put the Royals ahead 5-4. However, the Beavers rallied for two runs in the home half of the same stanza to retake the lead. Omaha tied it in the ninth with three consecutive two-out singles, with Chris Lubanski's second hit of the game knotting the score.

On the mound, right-hander Devon Lowery tossed three scoreless innings of relief, allowing just one hit and one walk, while striking out two.

The same two clubs meet Sunday at the Kansas City Royals Spring Training complex in Surprise, Arizona.

The Royals 2008 season opener is set for Rosenblatt Stadium on Thursday, April 3rd at 7:05 p.m. vs. the Albuquerque Isotopes. For tickets, call the Royals ticket office at (402) 738-5100, or order and print tickets online at www.oroyals.com and at www.Etix.com.
