2007-08 Sea Dogs Team Award Winners Announced

SAINT JOHN, NB --- The Third Annual Sea Dogs Awards Banquet took place at the Delta Brunswick Hotel in Saint John last night, with nearly 300 patrons on hand to partake in the entertaining evening which featured several memorable speeches from players, staff, sponsors, and fans alike.

Star forward Chris DiDomenico was the big winner on the night, taking home four trophies including the prized Aliant MVP Award. A full list of Tuesday's award winners can be found below:

#25 Chris DiDomenico: Aliant Most Valuable Player, Alpine Three Stars Award, Irving Oil Team Player, Coca-Cola Top Scorer

#20 Alex Grant: Children's Wish Foundation Fan Choice Award, Investor's Group Top Defenseman

#44 Brett Gallant: Scotiabank Community Service Award,

#10 Michael Kirkpatrick: Net Difference Rookie of the Year

#41 Pascal Amyot: Tim Horton's Most Improved Player

#22 Keven Charland: Saint John Airport Authority Academic Achievement Award

The first playoff game in Sea Dogs history is scheduled to take place this coming Friday, March 21 at Harbour Station. The historic match gets underway at 7:30pm as Saint John plays host to the P.E.I. Rocket. Game Two of the best-of-seven series will take place on Saturday night at 7:00pm.

The Sea Dogs were 5-1 versus the Rocket during the 2007-08 regular season, and outscored their divisional rivals 43-22 over the course of their six head-to-head contests.
