Ducks Announce 2008 Promotional Dates

(Central Islip, N.Y.) - Long Island Ducks team officials today announced the club's promotional schedule for the 2008 season. The promotions kick off on Opening Night, April 25, with QuackerJack âGo Green' Bobblehead Night presented by Motorola. First pitch is slated for 7:05 as Long Island takes on the Newark Bears.
"This year's promotional calendar is more exciting than ever before," says Ducks general manager Michael Pfaff. "With so many great events and giveaways, Ducks baseball promises to once again be the best option for affordable family entertainment on Long Island."
The promotional schedule is highlighted by ten Grucci Fireworks Extravaganzas. In addition to ever-popular giveaways like t-shirts and hats, fans will also be treated over the course of the season to QJ figurines, children's backpacks, replica jersey drawstring bags, and lunch boxes, as well as several other giveaway items for fans of all ages. The Ducks will also host an array of theme nights, including Irish Heritage Night, Breast Cancer Awareness Night and the always-popular Long Island Luau.
Tickets for all these dates will be on sale beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, at the Citibank Park ticket office in Central Islip. A carnival-like atmosphere will be emceed by B-103's Wiseman & Frank, and will include musical entertainment, an inflatable bouncer, magicians to wow both young and old, a clown to bring laughter to all in attendance, the Easter Bunny, and, of course, QuackerJack himself. Fan will have the chance to get autographs from their favorite Ducks players and coaches, and purchase brand new 2008 Ducks merchandise at the Waddle In Shop. Complimentary snacks and refreshments from Sabrett, Herr's Chips, Entenmann's, Pepsi, and Centerplate will be served to those waiting in line. Fans are encouraged to arrive early as tickets are sure to go fast.
