Saint John Sea Dogs News Release

SAINT JOHN, March 30, 2007 - The Saint John Sea Dogs announced today that assistant coach Dwayne Blais has resigned for personal reasons, effective immediately.

In his one season with the Sea Dogs, Blais spent much of his time overseeing the team's conditioning and fitness program. Guiding the Sea Dogs young defence was another major responsibility.

"The past year has been one of the most rewarding chapters in my life," said Blais. "I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Saint John and being part of the team's development. I truly believe that with a few key additions, the team now in place can be very successful. We have taken steps in the right direction."

Blais said he will return to his native London, Ontario where he operates Total Package Hockey, a hockey development company whose clientele range from youth to pros.

In accepting his resignation, Sea Dogs general manager and head coach Jacques Beaulieu praised Blais for his contributions this past season. Beaulieu said he is already exploring several possibilities of a successor to Blais and hopes to have the position filled by the time the 2007 QMJHL draft is held in June.
