The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the remainder of the Knoxville Noise schedule will be played as the Georgia Gwizzlies - and will play its home games in Georgia and will also meet the Noise' away schedule. According to Joe Newman ABA CEO, "This move will be helpful in a variety of ways as it will tighten the travel schedule and make it easier for our southeastern teams. And co-owner Embry Malone has put together a formidable, competitive team. Included are:

"I have wanted to compete in the ABA for the last four years," said Malone. "We deeply appreciate this mid-season opportunity. We'll pick up the Knoxville record - and our team will do everything it can to reach the playoffs and represent the league well."
The team will play its home games at Oxford College in Covington, Georgia, a school in middle Georgia.
