Fort Worth Flyers News Release

FORT WORTH, Texas, November 28, 2006 - The Philadelphia 76ers have assigned rookie forward Bobby Jones and second-year guard Louis Williams to the Fort Worth Flyers.

Jones and Williams are the second and third NBA players to be assigned to a D-League team this season and the first Philadelphia players to be designated. The Charlotte Bobcats assigned center Ryan Hollins to Fort Worth on November 22. Twenty-one (21) NBA teams have utilized the assignment system put in place prior to the 2005-06 season to assign 32 first or second-year players to D-League affiliates.

"This is a perfect time for Louis and Bobby to go to the NBA Development League," said 76ers Senior Vice President of Basketball Operations Tony DiLeo. "It is the start of the season where they can gain valuable playing time and also apply the things that they have learned with us. This experience will benefit their individual development and help the organization in the long run."

A 6-foot-7, 215-pound forward, Jones has played in four games this season with Philadelphia, logging a total of five minutes. Selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round (37th overall) of the 2006 NBA Draft, the 76ers acquired Jones on draft-night in exchange for a 2007 second round draft pick and cash considerations.

A 6-foot-1, 175-pound guard, Williams has appeared in five games with the Sixers this season scoring two points in 15 minutes. Currently the eighth-youngest active player in the NBA, Williams has averaged 1.7 points, 0.6 rebounds and 0.3 assists in 35 games with the Sixers. Williams was selected by the 76ers in the second round (45th overall) of the 2005 NBA Draft as an early-entry candidate out of South Gwinnett High School (Ga.).

The Fort Worth Flyers home opener is Friday, December 1st against the Bakersfield Jam at the Fort Worth Convention Center. Flyers season ticket, group and flex book packages are on sale now and offer various options for fun, affordable entertainment. For more information, log on to fwflyers.com or call (817) 698-8333.
