
D-Fenders Acquire Brian Chase, Waive Andre Joseph

EL SEGUNDO, Calif.- The Los Angeles D-Fenders have acquired guard Brian Chase and waived guard Andre Joseph.
Chase, 5-10, 155, was waived by the Utah Jazz on November 14. He did not appear in a game for the Jazz. He was selected by the D-Fenders in the third round of the 2006 NBA D-League Expansion Draft on September 19.
Chase began the 2005-06 season with the Gary Steelheads in the CBA, averaging 15.1 points and 4.1 assists in 48 games before finishing the season in the D-League with the Roanoke Dazzle, averaging 13.0 points and 6.0 assists in three games.
He finished his collegiate career at Virginia Tech as the 26th all-time leading scorer in school history with 1,115 points. As a senior in 2003-04, Chase averaged 7.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists.
Joseph played in two games (one start) for the D-Fenders, averaging 27.5 minutes, 4.0 points, 0.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists.
Chase is expected to be in uniform this afternoon when the D-Fenders (2-0) are host to the Bakersfield Jam
(0-1). He will wear jersey #4.
The D-Fenders Home Opener this afternoon at STAPLES Center will have a 3:30pm tip-off, preceding tonight's Lakers game.
Having a Lakers ticket for this evening's game at STAPLES Center is also your ticket to a lower bowl seat for the D-Fenders. Lakers season ticket holders who attend today's D-Fenders game will receive a special gift, while supplies last, by visiting the Season Ticket Holder Booth on the main concourse at the Figueroa Street Entrance.
On July 31st of this year the Los Angeles Lakers announced that they had become the first NBA franchise in history to own an NBA Development League team. The Los Angeles D-Fenders play their home games at STAPLES Center pre and post Lakers home games. The Lakers devoted fans were given the opportunity to name the NBA D-League team in an online naming contest.
