Arkansas Aeros to hold 'City Nights' in December

Arkansas Aeros News Release

SPRINGDALE, Ark. - The Arkansas Aeros will host the first of four "City Nights" in December with "Springdale Night" slated for the Sunday, Dec. 3rd contest with the Monterrey Veneno at 4:05 p.m. in the All-Star Sports Arena in Springdale.

"City Nights" are a chance for fans from Northwest Arkansas' four largest cities to attend an Aeros contest for half price just by flashing their driver's license that shows their residency. After Sunday's "Springdale Night," the Aeros will host similar events for residents of Fayetteville on Dec. 22, Rogers on Dec. 28 and Bentonville on Dec. 30.

"We just wanted to do something to show this just isn't a Fayetteville or Springdale or Rogers or Bentonville team,"said Aeros general manager Keith Newton. "This is a team for the entire Northwest Arkansas area. We don't want to have these special nights for just these four cities either. There are people from all over this region that love basketball that we want to come out and support us. Of course, just because a person isn't from a certain city on that 'City Night,' it means they are excluded from attending. We have a good fan base now and are really looking at ways to make it better."

The city that produces the largest attendance in December will also receive an autographed ABA basketball from the Aeros to be displayed at City Hall.

"We have a very competitive team that will go a long way in the ABA playoffs this year," Newton said. "We want these cities to show how competitive they are by seeing who can bring in the most people on their designated 'City Night.' It all starts Sunday with Springdale."

Admission for "City Nights" will allow adults to enter for $6 and children ages 6-14 for $3. Go to www.arkansasaeros.com for more information about the team.
