Keserich joins Storm

KEARNEY - The Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League announced on Tuesday that goaltender Ian Keserich (Kes-ur-itch) will leave Ohio State University this fall and join the Storm for the upcoming 2006-07 USHL season.

Keserich, who has spent two seasons as a back up to Ohio State's Dave Caruso, will join the team in September when the Storm opens its preseason camp. Last season Keserich played four games for the Buckeyes and posted a 2-1-0 record, a 2.66 goals against average and a save percentage of .900.

"The entire Storm staff is excited about this because we have our goalies locked up," said Storm head coach and general manager, Bliss Littler. "With Keserich, a commitment from Bryce Christiansen and a free agent goaltender that we really like, the coaching staff is excited to get these guys in camp."

Keserich, 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, comes to Kearney with numerous accolades throughout his playing career. Keserich was named the top goaltender at the Under-18 Junior World Cup in 2003 as a member of the US Under-18 team. He was also a seventh round draft pick of the Colorado Avalanche in 2004.

BROWNSCHIDLE, WHITE PLAYING FOR US UNDER-18 TEAM

KEARNEY - The Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League announced on Tuesday that forwards David Brownschidle and Patrick White will play this summer for the US Under-18 Select Team. Brownschidle, White and their teammates are playing in the Junior World Cup beginning today in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

Brownschidle and White will play for the Storm during the 2006-07 season. Brownschidle spent last year with the Storm while White attended Grand Rapids High School.
