Boise Hawks News Release

As we approach our 20th anniversary season, these are exciting times for the Boise Hawks Baseball Club and our fans. One of our most pressing issues is the design of a new logo for the 2007 season that will lead us into our next 20 years. The licensing agreement we have with Minor League Baseball on our current logo is about to expire. Because of that, we've hired Plan B Branding, a company out of San Diego, to help us with the design of a new logo we'll unveil next year.

With the new logo on the horizon, we believe this is also the perfect time to explore the idea of changing the name of the team. Please don't misunderstand our motivation in researching this issue. No one is more aware and proud of the tradition we've created over the course of the past two decades. If we find our fans want to keep the name Hawks, then that's exactly what we'll do.

To give you some additional background on exactly why we want to look into the idea of changing the name, please understand that we don't own the Hawks name - and never have. The Atlanta Hawks of the NBA own those rights. I won't bore you with the details. Suffice it to say, in many ways, it would be extremely beneficial to actually own the name of our team.

Please take a moment to click on the link below and fill out our brief survey. This is just the first step we're taking to discover your thoughts, and desire for the direction of the team. We plan to spend the next few months researching what you would like to see in terms of our new logo and possibly a new name.

Thanks for your time and interest in the team. Don't hesitate to contact me directly, my e-mail address is todd@boisehawks.com or call me on my direct line at 724-0459. Your input is what this process is all about.

Sincerely,

Todd Rahr

President & General Manager
