OTTAWA - The Baltimore Orioles placed OF SAMMY SOSA on the disabled list last night (retroactive to May 5th) with an abscess and staph infection in the bottom of his left foot.
To replace Sosa on the Orioles roster, Baltimore will purchase the contract of OF KEITH REED from Ottawa on Wednesday. Reed, the Orioles' first round draft pick in the 1999 draft, was batting .267 (20-for-75) with four homers and 11 RBI in 25 games with the Lynx.
