COMSTOCK PARK, MI - The Detroit Tigers announced Sunday that
right-handed pitcher Cristhian Martinez is joining the Whitecaps from

He has a 2.08 ERA in 13 innings of work including one walk and 12 strikeouts. In 2003, Martinez posted a 3-3 record for the DSL Tigers and GCL Tigers with a 3.95 ERA in 13 games. Martinez will be joining the Whitecaps on Monday in South Bend.
