Manchester Monarchs News Release

MANCHESTER, NH – The Manchester Monarchs, the top affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, will host their third annual Ace Bailey Golf Classic at the Manchester Country Club in Bedford, New Hampshire, on Monday, June 21. The Monarchs Care Foundation, the charitable arm of the Monarchs, will host this year's tournament with proceeds from the event earmarked for the new pediatric treatment area at Catholic Medical Center.

"We're once again honored to be hosting this year's Ace Bailey Golf Classic," said Jeff Eisenberg, President of the Monarchs. "Ace was a special part of the organization. His joy and fun-loving spirit touched us all. The tournament allows us to celebrate his life and his love for children while preserving his memory." The Ace Bailey Golf Classic is held annually to honor the memory of Garnet "Ace" Bailey, who served as the Kings Director of Pro Scouting until his death on September 11, 2001. Bailey was a passenger aboard United Flight 175 and was lost in the tragic events of the day.

Registration for this year's tournament is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on June 21 with a shotgun start slated for 12:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided for those competing in the tournament with an awards dinner and a live and silent auction to follow the action on the course. WMUR Channel 9 Sports personality Jamie Staton will host the dinner. The auctions will feature sports memorabilia from some of the biggest names in sports. A fifth celebrity player will accompany each foursome on the course.

The list of celebrities expected to appear at this year's event includes: Kings Director of Player Personnel Bill O'Flaherty, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough, Monarchs Head Coach Bruce Boudreau, Monarchs Assistant Coach Jim Hughes and 2003-04 Monarchs Sam Ftorek, Jeff Giuliano and Doug Nolan. Former and current hockey greats like Steve Kasper, Steve Leach, Don Marcotte, Rick Middleton, Brad Park, Scott Pellerin and Bob Sweeney are also scheduled to attend, along with University of New Hampshire Head Coach Dick Umile, Boston College Head Coach Jerry York and former Boston Bruins and current Albany River Rats Head Coach Rob Ftorek.

Limited space remains for additional foursomes.
