Metairie, LA - The New Orleans Zephyrs are holding their first "Basebowl" Tournament, sponsored by River Parish Disposal, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 26 at Rock-N-Bowl.

All proceeds from the event benefit the United Way for the Greater New Orleans Area.

"We are happy to continue our strong relationship with the United Way," said Zephyrs General Manager Mike Schline. "The Basebowl Tournament promises to be a fun event, giving fans a chance to interact with our players in a unique way, and will support a wonderful charitable organization."

"River Parish Disposal is pleased to support this charitable event which benefits the United Way for the Greater New Orleans Area. Our affiliation with the New Orleans Zephyrs has always been a high point in our marketing efforts since their inception," said River Parish Disposal Executive Vice President Brother Frommeyer.

Packages available for the Basebowl Tournament include both lane sponsorships and individual tickets. Strike Packages, available for $500, include seven bowlers at one lane exclusively with a Zephyrs player, signage for your company at the event, and 20 tickets to that night's game, when the Zephyrs face the Iowa Cubs at 6:00 p.m.

Individual tickets are available for $40 for bowlers, or $20 for those who wish to attend without bowling.

The cost includes complimentary food and drinks, and all members of the bowling teams will receive a Basebowl Tournament T-shirt. The event will also feature a silent auction.
