Lewis & Clark Bobbleheads Higlight Eight-Game Homestand

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Beavers host Pitch for Scouting Night, which includes the Lewis & Clark Bobblehead Giveaway presented by Cricket Wireless, and US Bank Art & Science of Baseball School Day presented by Intel during an event-filled, eight-game homestand, starting Thursday at PGE Park.

On Saturday, May 22, the Boy Scouts of America and Girl Scouts of the USA take over PGE Park for Pitch For Scouting Night. As part of Fred Meyer Super Giveaway Saturday, the Beavers debut one of their most anticipated giveaways of the season, as the first 2,000 fans through the gates will receive bobbleheads featuring two of America's most famous scouts, Lewis and Clark, presented by Cricket Wireless.

The Beavers invite fans to go green and ride their bicycles to PGE Park on Friday for Bike Night. General admission tickets for those who bring bikes will be available for $5.

On Wednesday morning, May 26, the Beavers host their third US Bank Art & Science of Baseball School Day presented by Intel of the season. Representatives from OMSI will be on hand to provide Portland-area kids a day of learning and baseball as part of the ultimate field trip at the ballpark. Gates open at 9 a.m.; the game begins at 11:05 a.m.

Finally, the last homestand in May concludes with a second Miller Lite Thursday on Thursday, May 27.

Three of the eight games on the homestand will be televised live on FSN, including Thursday's opener against Oklahoma City, Monday night's matchup with New Orleans and the homestand finale on Thursday, May 27, against New Orleans.

Tickets for the Beavers' series against Oklahoma City RedHawks, the Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, and New Orleans, the Triple-A club of the Florida Marlins, are available through the PGE Park box office, area Ticketmaster outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.com or by phone at (800) 745-3000. Thursday, May 20

Miller Lite Thursday - Beavers vs. Oklahoma City - 7:05 p.m. The Beavers kick-start their homestand against the American Conference's Oklahoma City RedHawks with a Miller Lite Thursday, televised live on FSN. A new aspect of Miller Lite Thursdays in 2010 is the variety of specials prior to the first pitch, from 6-7 p.m. in the Widmer Garden.

Friday, May 21

Bike Night - Beavers vs. Oklahoma City - 7:05 p.m. Hop on your two-wheelers and ride on down to PGE Park as the Beavers continue their series with the RedHawks on Bike Night. Fans who bring their bicycles to the game will be able to purchase general admission seats for just $5 and access the bike parking on the center field deck. Friday's game is also another Zenner's $1 Menu Friday, featuring select menu items - Zenner's hot dogs, Sierra Springs water and Fudgesicle and Creamsicle treats - for only $1. Additionally, the Beavers will celebrate SMART Awareness Night, which helps kids develop their reading abilities.

Saturday, May 22

Pitch for Scouting Night / Lewis & Clark Bobblehead Giveaway presented by Cricket Wireless - Beavers vs. Oklahoma City - 7:05 p.m. The homestand is anchored with Pitch For Scouting Night on a Fred Meyer Super Giveaway Saturday. The first 2,000 fans through the gates will receive a Lewis & Clark Bobblehead presented by Cricket Wireless as the Beavers honor two of America's most famous scouts. The Beavers will host a celebration with Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts front-and-center for the night's promotional activities. The Beavers will also host Mary Kay Ash Foundation Night on Saturday, honoring the organization which promotes women's health and safety. Saturday's game is also the first Beavers contest for which Cricket Wireless Family Packs are available.

Sunday, May 23

Kids Day - Beavers vs. Oklahoma City - 2:05 p.m. Sunday is Kids Day at PGE Park, with young Beavers fans the center of attention. Prior to the first pitch, kids 12 and under can take advantage of the Beavers' Kids-Eat-Free plan, play catch on the field and get autographs from Beavers players. As with every Sunday game, kids are invited on the field to run the bases post-game. Sunday is also Strikeout ALS Awareness Day, as a portion of ticket proceeds will go to ALS to help find a cure for Lou Gehrig's Disease.

Monday, May 24

Make-A-Difference Monday - Beavers vs. New Orleans - 7:05 p.m. The Beavers start their four-game set with the New Orleans Zephyrs on Make-A-Difference Monday at PGE Park. Fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable foods to the game for donation to the Portland Sunshine Division, which helps those in need in the Portland area. Fans who pitch in will be offered a special discount on Monday's ticket. The game will be televised live on FSN.

Tuesday, May 25

Fred Meyer $4 Tuesday - Beavers vs. New Orleans - 7:05 p.m. Portland continues its series with New Orleans on a Fred Meyer $4 Tuesday. Throughout the day, 200 general admission tickets will be available for $4 through the PGE Park box office and Ticketmaster outlets at local Fred Meyer locations.

Wednesday, May 26

US Bank Art & Science of Baseball School Day presented by Intel - Beavers vs. New Orleans - 11:05 a.m. The Beavers meet the Zephyrs on a special US Bank Art & Science of Baseball School Day presented by Intel. Portland-area kids take over PGE Park for a day of fun and learning, featuring special exhibits and a pre-game presentation from OMSI starting at 9 a.m. It is a Win-Win Wednesday, which means each fan in attendance can redeem their ticket from the game for entry into a future Sunday-Wednesday Beavers home game, as long as the Beavers are victorious. A Beavers win also earns fans a voucher to nearby Tropical Smoothie Café. The game is part of a split-ticket doubleheader, as PGE Park hosts the Civil War Classic between the University of Oregon and Oregon State University at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Thursday, May 27

Miller Lite Thursday - Beavers vs. New Orleans - 7:05 p.m. The Beavers wrap up their May home schedule with a Miller Lite Thursday matchup against New Orleans, televised live on FSN. Enjoy specials prior to the first pitch, from 6-7 p.m. in the Widmer Garden.
