Rockford IceHogs News Release
Rockford, Ill.-The month of December sunk the Rockford IceHogs last year. With two games to play in December 2012, the month has helped carry Rockford into a fight for the top spot in the Midwest Division.
Tonight, the IceHogs continue that battle when the Milwaukee Admirals come to town for a 7:05 p.m. Midwest Division matchup at the BMO Harris Bank Center. The first 1,000 kids 14-and-under will receive an IceHogs Youth Jersey, courtesy of Rockford Orthopedic. Doors open at 6 p.m.
For tickets, call (815) 968-5222, online through IceHogs.com or in person at either the BMO Harris Bank Center Box office or any Ticketmaster outlet.
The game can be viewed on 23-2 Antenna TV, Comcast Cable channel-436, Charter Cable channel-970 or on Mediacom channel-101. To watch online or for the free audio web stream, visit AHLlive.com .
Rockford is 6-4-1-0 through 11 December games after going just 3-8-1-0 a season ago. Four of those 11 tilts so far have come against Milwaukee, with a fifth happening tonight. The IceHogs are 2-1-0-1 against their division rivals.
Separated by just one point in the standings, both Rockford (16-13-1-1, 34pts) and Milwaukee (15-12-2-1, 33pts) are chasing the Grand Rapids Griffins (36pts) in the division. While Rockford has won their last two games, Milwaukee enters tonight's game on a three-game winning streak that includes a 2-1 win over the IceHogs on Dec. 21 at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
Martin St. Pierre continues to pace the IceHogs offense as the team captain has a team-best 28 points, 13 goals and a plus/minus rating of +12. St. Pierre is +15 over his past 18 games.
After tonight's game, the IceHogs will embark on a three-game road swing.
Next Home Game: Wednesday, Jan. 9 vs. Grand Rapids. Puck drop is 7:05 p.m. After four straight contests in Grand Rapids, the IceHogs and Griffins finally meet in Rockford. Wednesday is another WXRX Dollar Day as fans can take advantage of dollar beers, hot dogs, soft drinks and companion tickets.
