Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz News Release

OKLAHOMA CITY-It was a record setting night for the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz in their 72-66 win over the Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings Saturday night at the Ford Center.

The victory gives the Yard Dawgz (11-5) a new team record for most wins in a season. It came in front of the largest crowd of the season (9,640) and gave the Yard Dawgz a measure of revenge against the Battle Wings (3-13) who had beaten the Yard Dawgz on May 27th.

The fans were almost treated to a new single season touchdown passing mark courtesy of Yard Dawgz quarterback Craig Strickland. He had eight touchdown tosses on the night, falling one short of the af2 season mark of 99 touchdown passes. Strickland made his run at the touchdown record with five first half TD tosses.

He spread the wealth as well. Anthony Dingle led the Yard Dawgz with three touchdown catches, Al Hunt and Jarrail Jackson each caught two, and Fred Shaw pulled in one TD pass. Jackson also electrified the crowd with a 52 yard kickoff return in the third quarter.

The Yard Dawgz will make their third straight appearance in the Arena Cup playoffs next Saturday night. They have never missed the playoffs. The Yard Dawgz will host the Arkansas Twisters on Saturday August 5th at 7:05 p.m. That game will be played at the Cox Business Center.
