Yard Dawgz roll over Dorados

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz continued their hot streak and rolled over the visiting Rio Grande Valley Dorados 59-35, in front of 5,111 fans at the Ford Center. The Yard Dawgz began to pull away in the middle of the third quarter as they would reel off 26 consecutive points to end the Dorados four game win streak. The Yard Dawgz improve to 5-4 on the season and have extended their win streak to three games.

Offensive Player of the Game, Jarrail Jackson ended the night with 11 catches for 178 yards and five touchdowns for the Dawgz. Yard Dawgz quarterback Craig Strickland ended his night early with a third quarter ejection and finished the night 18-of-24 for 233 yards and six touchdowns.

The Yard Dawgz defense forced the Dorados into seven turnovers on the night, five fumbles and two interceptions, and held the Dorados to only 194 yards of total offense.

After taking a two-point lead into the locker room at halftime, the Yard Dawgz offense exploded for 24 points in the third quarter to put the game away. Jackson caught touchdown passes of 38, 14, and 39 yards in the quarter and Jason Ball would add a 43-yard field goal, extending the Dawgz lead to 50-27 at the end of the third quarter. The Yard Dawgz defense held the Dorados to a 32-yard field goal in the third.

The Dorados offense was led by Dwight Counter who finished the night with nine catches for 104 yards and two touchdowns. Dorados quarterback Josh Kellett finished the night 18-of-34 for 182 yards and four touchdowns.

Yard Dawgz wide receiver/defensive back B.J. Barre was named Ironman of the Game for his performance on the night. Barre would finish with four catches for 31 yards and one touchdown on offense and defensively he added 2.5 tackles and two pass defenses. Dawgz defensive specialist Jeromy Flowers earned ADT Defensive Player of the Game for his six tackles, two-interception game. He would also add three pass defenses.

The Yard Dawgz will return home next Saturday June 11th when they face Midwest Division rival the expansion Amarillo Dusters. The Dusters are coming off of a 69-63 victory over the South Georgia Wildcats and are sitting in second place in the Midwest Division, one game ahead of the Yard Dawgz.
