Yard Dawgz Ranked Second for Second Straight Week

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz (4-0) maintain the #2 ranking for the second straight week in the latest af2 coaches poll. The Yard Dawgz received two first place votes and are one of only two undefeated teams, the other being the Spokane Shock, also 4-0. The Dawgz travel to Spokane on June 26th in what is quickly building as one of the most anticipated games of the season.

The Dawgz defense has been instrumental to the teams early success in the first quarter of the season. The second ranked scoring defense, allowing only 38.2 points per game, also posts league bests in total points allowed (153) and total passing yards allowed (891). Oklahoma City held Amarillo to under 30 points in both of their meetings this year, 29 points in the season opener and 28 points in last weekends home win. In week three, Central Valley only managed 38 points against a stout Yard Dawgz defense. The only team to score more than 40 points against this potent defense is the #4 ranked South Georgia Wildcats in the Dawgz 68-56 home opener win in week two.

The Yard Dawgz are second in the af2 in total touchdowns allowed (22), rushing touchdowns allowed (3) and passing yards per completion (5.9). The Dawgz are also tied for third in the league in passing touchdowns allowed (19). They are also tied for fifth in the league in sacks (9) and turnovers gained (13), pushing the Dawgz to first place in turnover margin at +2.25 pg.
