Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz News Release

OKLAHOMA CITY - Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz Dancer Lyndzee Vieweg can now add another accomplishment to her growing resume, Miss Teen Oklahoma International. The Rose State College freshman recently won the competition by beating out her fellow contestants in five categories, including winning the evening gown award. Vieweg's platform for the competition was the Lupus Foundation of America, the foremost national nonprofit voluntary health organization dedicated to finding the causes of and cure for lupus as well as providing support, services and hope to all people affected by lupus.

As Miss Teen Oklahoma International, Vieweg will compete in the Miss Teen International Pageant held in Chicago, Illinois on July 23rd and 25th. She will also spend the next year speaking to thousands of Oklahomans, raising awareness for the Lupus Foundation and the American Heart Association.

By the age of fourteen Vieweg became an instructor at a dance studio in her hometown of El Reno. She cheered and danced in junior high and high school, taught at cheer/dance clinics and competed with the Dance Authority Sr. Elite Team, winning multiple awards. In addition to being a member of the Yard Dawgz Dance Team, Vieweg is also a member of the National Champion Rose State cheer squad. Vieweg also has her own organization, the Miss American Butterfly Pageant, which focuses on raising money for the Lupus Foundation of America. Upon graduating from Rose State with a degree in Business, Vieweg's future plans are to further her education at the University of Central Oklahoma with an emphasis in Dance and French.

"Dancing is my passion," said Vieweg. "I started dancing at the age of four. I did everything from ballet, tap, jazz and pom to lyrical, hip-hop and pointe. I've done it all."

Miss Teen Oklahoma is an official state preliminary to the Miss Teen International Pageant. Contestants receive 40% of their score on their ability to speak out on the platform of their choice. 20% of the score is given to fitness in aerobic wear, 20% in Fun Fashion Wear and 20% of the score is given to evening gown competition.
