Yard Dawgz clinch home playoff game

Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz News Release

OKLAHOMA CITY-For the third straight season, the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz will have a home playoff game.

The Yard Dawgz have two games left to play and have already equaled the franchise record of 10 wins. They are tied with Tulsa for first place in the Midwest Division, two games ahead of Arkansas. If the Yard Dawgz win the division, they will receive a first round playoff bye. If Oklahoma City doesn't win the division, the Yard Dawgz will open the playoffs at home the weekend of August 4-5.

Oklahoma City must finish ahead of Tulsa outright to win the Midwest Division, as Tulsa holds the tie breaker advantage over the Yard Dawgz. However, a three way tie between the Yard Dawgz, Tulsa and Arkansas is still a mathematical possibility. In a tiebreaking quirk, if all three teams wind up tied (each would have a record of 10-6), the Yard Dawgz would win the division on the three way tie breaker, and earn the first round bye.

"We just have to concentrate on taking care of our own business and get ready for Central Valley, and let things take care of themselves," Yard Dawgz coach Jeff Jarnigan said. "It's two pretty good football teams lining up Saturday night."

The Yard Dawgz visit the Central Valley Coyotes (also 10-4) Saturday night in a 9:30 Central Time kickoff. They wrap up the regular season at home on Saturday July 29th against Bossier-Shreveport at 7:05 p.m.

Both games can be heard on KEBC AM 1340, KFNY 1640 AM and KGFF 1450 AM with Mike Fraser calling the action. For more information, contact the Yard Dawgz at (405) 228-3294 or visit the team website at www.okcyarddawgz.com.
