Y'alls Fall in Thriller in Washington

WASHINGTON, Penn. - After a 7-2 victory on Tuesday, the Florence Y'alls took on the Washington Wild Things in game two on Wednesday night at Wild Things Park.

Hayden Wheeler took the mound for Florence. The lefty was strong, allowing only two runs through his first five innings. Both runs came off the bat of Washington second baseman Joe Campagna who had a pair of solo homers. One in the third and one in the fifth which tied the game up at two. Washington did score four in the sixth inning. Two runs were charged to Hayden Wheeler who was taken out in the sixth with two men on and the other two were charged to Alex Wagner who came on in relief.

Florence was held to just two runs through the first five, In the fifth Trevor Craport hit an RBI single and then he scored later on a balk call on Wild Things' starter Daren Osby.

Trailing 6-2 in the ninth, Florence gave it a run. Chad Sedio hit a 2-run homer to make it 6-4 and then Harrison DiNicola drove in his Frontier League leading 27th RBI of the season with a single, scoring Trevor Craport (reached on an error). With the bases loaded Zach Strecker got Taylor Bryant to strike out looking to end the ball game. The Wild Things held on for a 6-5 victory.

Hayden Wheeler suffered the loss and Ben Vicini was credited for the win.

These two teams will face off one more time tomorrow night in Washington. Kevin Hahn takes the ball for Florence and Ryan Hennen is on the hill for Washington. First pitch at 7:05 ET.
