Sioux City Explorers News Release

Sioux City, IA: The Sioux City Explorers announced today that they have acquired INF Todd Brock from the Bangor Lumberjacks of the Northeast League. In exchange for Brock, the X's traded INF Lance Woodcock to the Lincoln Saltdogs for Paul Powell, who in turn was traded to the Lumberjacks. The Explorers also announced today that they have picked up the rights to pitchers Alan Ochsner and Andy Lee from the Lincoln Saltdogs off waivers.

Brock, 25, will be entering his fifth season in professional baseball when the X's open spring training this May. Brock's best season as a player came in the 2nd half of the 2002 season when he hit .306 with Adirondack over 43 games. In that time, he hit ten doubles and three homeruns with 23 RBI's while playing three of the four infield positions.

Ochsner and Lee both pitched for the Lincoln Saltdogs in the 2003. Ochsner was a main component in the Lincoln bullpen. Over 32 appearances, he had a 2.90 earned run average over 40 innings of work. Lee, a lefthander, logged 23 appearances for the 2003 season mostly in spot relief. The X's now hold the rights to both players for the 2004 season.
