
Xplosion to tip off Gateway Basketball Madness Saturday

PITTSBURGH, November 17, 2006 - The Pittsburgh Xplosion will be among the featured guests when Gateway High School tips-off its season with Basketball Madness on Saturday, November 18 at the GHS Henry J. Furrie Sports Complex. The season-opening event will run from 6:00 - 9:00 PM. Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for students.
The evening will feature boys and girls grade school scrimmages starting at 6:00 PM, a celebrity game, introductions and scrimmages by the boys and girls varsity teams. Xplosion players and WAMO personalities will be available for pictures and autographs throughout the evening, which also includes a girls three-point shooting contest, a boys slam dunk contest, raffles and prizes.
The Club 4 Life in Monroeville, Pa. serves as the Xplosion's training and practice facility. The club's 2006-07 Continental Basketball Association season kicks off at Albany on December 1 and its home opener versus the Indiana AlleyCats at Mellon Arena will be on Wednesday, December 6.
