Xplosion to host Tip-Off Reception Friday night

PITTSBURGH, November 9, 2006 - The Pittsburgh Xplosion professional basketball team will hold its 2006 Tip-Off Reception, tomorrow night, Friday, November 10 from 6:00 - 9:00 PM at the Palomino Restaurant located at Four Gateway Center in downtown Pittsburgh. The second annual event is free to the public.

With the team set to open its Continental Basketball Association season on December1, the evening will provide fans with an opportunity to meet and mingle with Xplosion players and coaches, including new head coach Larry Anderson, along with Armon Gilliam, Bryant McAllister, Kevin Pittsnogle and Drew Schifino, among others. Autograph signings, photo opportunities, prizes, surprises and ticket giveaways will further highlight the event which includes a cash bar and cash menu.

The night will also feature visits from celebrity fans and friends, including Duquesne men's basketball coach Ron Everhart, former Duquesne standout BB Flenory, Pitt assistant coach and former Harlem Globetrotter Orlando Antigua, former Pitt and NBA star Darren Morningstar and Steelers' legend Dwayne Woodruff.

The Xplosion will open training camp on November 14 at the The Club 4 Life in Monroeville, Pa. The team kicks-off its 2006-07 Continental Basketball Association season at Albany on December 1 and plays its home opener versus the Indiana AlleyCats at Mellon Arena on Wednesday, December 6.
